This year’s playwrights, actors, and directors bring a variety of experiences to the stage. There are some who have worked on Broadway as well as those who have thrived in Sarasota and Manatee’s community theater. Some of the playwrights have won past 10-Minute Play Festival competitions; others have been honored with national and international acclaim for their work. This year’s troupe also contains local educators, retired lawyers and even a professor of medicine.
“The diversity of backgrounds and talent should provide a memorable evening,” remarked Trustee President Terry Romine “We hope people will bring their holiday visitors out for an affordable and unique theater experience. With three scheduled performances, there should be a day or night to fit the calendar.”
Theatre Odyssey was founded in 2006 to encourage and promote the efforts of local playwrights and actors. Over the years, the group has premiered over 50 plays written, directed and performed by Gulf Coast playwrights, actors and directors.
