Someone recently left me a comment saying something along the lines of, " what a joy you must have working with such great people."
On the one hand, theatre and dance are collaborative art forms; if someone's not willing to collaborate with other artists, s/he should be a sculptor or a painter. My best lighting is almost always done in situations in which I'm working with great collaborators, and many of those performers, directors, and fellow designers have been truly delightful people.
On the other hand...well...um...how to phrase this....?
People rarely go into the arts because they're totally well-adjusted.
