Can you see me in a Panama hat with a Southern drawl strutting my stuff as a mayor of a very small Florida town? Well, apparently the producer and writer/director of AMERICAN SOUTH can. This thriller-feature is about a very small town that suddenly is the victim of a serial killer - and there are no strangers to blame. Principal filming begins next month.
I am also glad to say that Ascension Films here in Sarasota has tapped me for one of its upcoming projects. And, my audition as a… Continue

This week I had a concert series at the Players celebrating Sinatra tunes you don't hear very often. It was such a blast. Great musicians: Henry Ettman on drums, Eddie Tobin on piano, and Dom Mancini on base. Nice turn out..standing room on Saturday..and really great music. I reached for tunes like: The Brooklyn Bridge, I Love My Wife, South to a Warmer Place, All My Tomorrows, a bunch of his Jobim collaborations.
And now I sit here, just thinking. I have to say, in all honesty, that… Continue

(Tampa, FL) The Tampa Bay Lightning were 16 seconds away from their second straight win at home after two embarrassing losses on the road last week, but the Buffalo Sabres took it away with a 3-2 shootout win tonight before 15,804 at the Forum in Tampa.
Buffalo’s Drew Stafford scored the tying goal at 19:44 beating Lightning goalie Mike Smith with a wrist shot from deep in the right-hand circle to send the game to overtime. Sabres goalie Ryan Miller kept his team in the game stopping… Continue

The past week was full of contrasts from playing a schizophrenic homeless guy with Tourrette's Syndrome to a Mafia guy in CAGED DREAMS and a bar owner in SAVING GOD. This week there is a meeting with a panel of Hollywood producers in Sarasota - which should be very interesting. It was put together by my friend Jeanne Corcoran at the Sarasota County Film & Entertainment Office in hopes to get more movies done in this area. We are all for that!!
More commercial voiceover work this week… Continue

Hello there! State College of Florida is making a short student film, a ghost-murder-mystery set on an island in the Florida Gulf. Here's the breakdown of synopsis, characters, and locations; I'm trying to find as much help as I can, and Christine Alexander recommended I e-mail here to get this put out on the newsletter. Feel free to link it somehow or shorten it to save yourself space if you need, and please let anyone know who's interested to contact the writer/director, Dylan H. Jones, at… Continue

Yes, Jason is back! At least the actor, Warrington Gillette, is alive and he was here in Sarasota. He was at the Screamfest in Orlando and came here for a get together orchestrated by Florida Films Productions. He is now doing the Slasher Festival circuit while trying to put together a game studio he wants in Miami. I'll post a photo of us together when I get it.
This past Saturday, Bad Fish Productions shot a viral ad that featured me as a schizophrenic homeless guy with Tourette's… Continue

(Tampa, FL) Ryan Malone scored the hat trick as the Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Carolina Hurricanes 5-2 before 14,212 fans tonight at the Forum in Tampa.
Winless in their first three games, the Lightning felt a sense of urgency tonight taking on divisional rival Carolina. Antero Niittymaki making his first start in goal for the Lightning stopped several point blank shots in the first period setting the tone for the game and giving the team the confidence to take more chances on… Continue

Did not see the curb in the parking lot the other night and ended landing mostly on my right knee. I thought it would be okay, but it got worse over a couple of days. The doc had me put my whole leg in a brace and advised that I should not put weight on it. So, my week is starting out slowly - and on crutches. I am hoping to get in my shoot as a BizShort Host at Intermedia Productions before the end of the week. The viral commercial shoot for Bad Fish Productions is slated for Saturday morning… Continue
