A little about me (so that you know I am a real person and not a spammer!)
I'm a native Floridian and come from a family of artists spanning five generations. I grew up in Boca Grande, FL. (before the bridge was built). After moving to Maryland , I started ballroom dancing, performing in a video for Mary Chapin Carpenter, modeled a while, appearing on TV shows, and in Hotels in Washington, D.C. and worked for the Federal Government. I was a member of the Southern Maryland Art League, accepted in juried shows in Washington, Maryland and Virginia. I won awards and continued to grow taking classes and workshops in various media and techiques. Moved back to Sarasota where I opened an art gallery in Towles Court, Sarasota, from 2000 to 2006, where I lived and worked until I sold my property and closed the gallery to pursue other venues for my art. At the present time I paint in my studio at home, showing in local galleries and painting commissions.
My inspiration comes from a feeling to capture nature and all it's beauty, and sometimes the sad and forgotten. The most recent paintings delve into the world of creating experimental art in mix medias incorporating realism into flights of wonder and spirtuality . It is my intent to draw the viewer in to make them feel they are a part of the scene.
I am a member of the Art Center Sarasota, National league of American Pen Women, and Sarasota County Arts Council
