A little about me (so that you know I am a real person and not a spammer!)
Amanda Schlachter has had the honor of directing with such companies as Kaleidoscope, The Source Theatre, The Players Theatre, The GG Monologues and Sarasota Actors Workshop. As an actress, she recently toured nationally with K.T. Curran's "The Day I Opened My Eyes" and appeared in Amy Knapp's "The GG Monologues." Amanda has taught acting for the last eight years along with recently teaching Yoga Meets Dance. In addition, she has had the opportunity of working with The Sarasota Film Festival for three seasons. Amanda is a graduate of The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City, has her B.F.A. from The University of Central Florida and completed an intensive internship program with The Orlando Shakespeare Theatre. Amanda is currently in the process of deciding on her next creative challenge!

Historic Spanish Point seeks creative, energetic, and organized individual to serve as the Artistic Director/Production Manager for its "living history" drama program during Heritage Holidays, November and December 2008.
The Arts Council's Tourist Development Grant program funds this event, with drama performances on weekends and other selected days from Saturday, November 22 through Sunday, December 14.
The Artistic Director will cast all actors, schedule rehearsals and arrange costumes and props from the museum's drama collections. The Artistic Director will also determine casting, rehearsal and performance schedules and be responsible for all communication with the volunteer actors. In addition, the Artistic Director will have up to $500 to pay as honoraria to lead actors. He or she will supervise all performances and manage sound systems.
The Artistic Director will be an independent contractor and will manage all tasks and services so that the living history dramas are staged on the schedule outlined above. He or she will report to Mike Sprout, Program Director at Historic Spanish Point.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have theater experience including but not limited to stage production, directing, and acting. The ability to manage performances at several indoor and outdoor venues is required, as well as excellent people skills. A love of Florida history and museums is a plus.
