Happy Easter! I am pleased to announce the launch of an Indiegogo campaign for TRANSMOGRIFY MAGAZINE, an upscale arts and culture magazine based in Sarasota, which my team has been developing for over a year. We have many high profile interviews (artists, musicians, filmmakers) and content ready to publish, including a Nobel Peace Prize nominee, award winning fantasy/Sci-fi Artists and filmmakers, etc. As many of us artists are aware, the arts coverage in Sarasota media can be very sparse, even considering it is such an active and diverse arts community, which is exactly why we are crafting this upscale publication.
We need the community's support to launch the first issue. Please spread the word to make the vision a reality:
Enjoyed Joe Spinella's show at Caffe Baci "Tenor of Illusions" fine singing of Neapolitan songs. Fun evening out with Pianist, John Visser!
Hi... I'm David and I just joined the list. My wife, Andrea and I have a retro Brazilian band called O Som Do Jazz. We play 1956-75 bossa nova, samba-jazz and MPB. Andrea is from Rio de Janeiro and sings mainly Portuguese since the music often
sounds better in its original language (like most opera). Our web site is www.osomdojazz.com. Here is a clip of the band from a recent performance:
A three hour gig.
Seeking a classical or folk guitarist for a one day event on Saturday morning/afternoon - Oct 15 in Downtown Sarasota. Any one?
Time for Technique - pure vowels on a stream of breath regulated by the diaphragm and supported by the entire body.
If you sing from your 'diaphragm' you're only using 'half' of your body, with have the power. Breath is the first thing we begin studying, and the last thing we master - but what an exciting journey to pianissimi, fortissimi con la belleza della fioratura. Love it! LaVoix
