This July Art Uptown will present Evelyn McCorristin Peters’ latest paintings inspired by a recent road trip. Evelyn knows that travel is a great educator. "We often live in our own socio and economic bubble,” she observes, "and many rarely branch out of that in travel." Evelyn's travel and work, going town to town on a weekly basis, offers an even broader knowledge. She adds, "Drive through this country, and you begin to understand and have perspective on what people experience on a day-to-day basis." This exhibit will reflect Evelyn's recent U.S. travel stops, some familiar and some new, in hopes they will inspire viewers to get out and away from their own opinions of the people and places in our country, in contrast to the sound bites we hear each day.
The exhibit opens on June 29 and runs through July 27. The public is invited to meet the artist at a public reception with refreshments on First Friday, July 5, from 6-9 PM at Art Uptown Gallery, 1367 Main St., Sarasota. Telephone 941-955-5409 for further information.
